Medical treatment compensation claims
When you have
suffered a
personal injury
thr
ough
no fault of your
own, unless your
injuries are
very minor, it
is likely that
you will need
some form of
medical
treatment after
your accident.
Any claim for
personal injury
compensation can
also include
costs of certain
medical
treatments you
receive between
the time of the
accident and the
date of the
trial or
settlement of
your accident
compensation
claim.
Injury Law will be able to advise whether your compensation claim can include the cost of some medical procedures that were necessary after your accident. We are committed to making sure our clients receive appropriate medical treatment after any accident so that they can recover from their injuries as quickly as possible.
Assessment for any medical treatment required
We arrange for all of our clients that have suffered personal injuries to undergo a medical assessment by a specialist doctor. Depending on the advice given at this first appointment, we may arrange for subsequent medical examinations to get an accurate picture of your injuries and an estimate of the length of time it will take for you to recover. We rely on the prognosis given in these medical assessments to form the basis of your accident compensation claim.
For example if your injuries were serious we could claim the cost of plastic surgery to minimise any scarring from your injuries or the initial medical treatment given to you after the accident. If you received soft tissue injuries such as whiplash then we are able to arrange a course of physiotherapy for any client that might require it.
If as a result of your accident you require long term medical care then this can also be claimed for as part of the general damages compensation. If the accident was very serious and has left you disabled, then we can help you to claim for money towards the cost of specialist equipment such as wheelchairs or improvements to your home (wheelchair access ramps, downstairs toilets, installation of a stair lift).
It is important to remember that if you were injured through no fault of your own, then it is only right that you receive medical treatment compensation that reflects the impact your injuries have had on your life. Injury Law will fight for all our clients to receive the money and assistance which they deserve.
